I caught fire in the sky

watched metallic ash
dissolve, making room
for your
descending
light.

I made hope my fever:
all shall be well —
the daring
illusion of Icarus,
of the anchoress,
of anyone whose love,
too bright, must fight the stars
and,
falling,
paints
its truth.
